This all new build has all the advantages of a barn conversion with a lofty double height space and charming features without the downsides of restricted window locations that tend to lead to highly contrasting spaces going from one huge window to dark areas.
It was important that the interiors had something of the atmosphere associated with a farmhouse feel despite being a very modern take on a barn conversion. To achieve this aim we used Belfast sinks, an Aga with an oak lintel above, tumbled limestone, oak flooring and oak doors including a huge barn like door as a secondary door.
The sculptural spacial qualities of the interior were enhanced by matching the paint colours with the storage, work surface and balustrade as if it were all carved from one material.
Modern english Cabinetry was extensively involved in the interior of this project creating a minimal kitchen fitted with a Silestone work surface and balustrade rail, dresser, larder, matching storage wall, fitted cupboards, alcove shelving, bathroom vanity furniture and oak doors.
